Right pH Levels for Cannabis

Nutritional solubility and absorption in cannabis are dependent on pH balance. Indicators of pH levels are provided by the pH scale (zero to 14). When pH is on the lower end, Iron and Manganese are made available to the plant. This can be a hindrance to your growing exercise. But.. Micronutrients, such as phosphorus, become less soluble and available to plants when pH goes up. Incorrect pH levels for cannabis can produce a less than desirable effect when it comes to nutrients, rendering them virtually useless to plants. 

Cannabis, like many plants, prefers acidic soil. No bronzing or interveinal chlorosis (yellowing of upper leaves) symptoms are tolerated, however pH levels outside the ideal range of 5.8 – 6.2 will stunt growth.

Monitor your pH levels every couple of days and calibrate it as needed to keep your pH levels at the right spot. Testing pH is simple if you use an affordable digital pH meter like this one. These metres are affordable and easy to use.

Calibrate the metre: Before testing, metres must be calibrated. Calibration using filtered water has a pH of 7.0. Make sure the water is deionized. Examine the results and add pH up or pH down accordingly.
