What Is Marijuana?

Marijuana is a plant that is known for its intoxicating effects when used. There are numerous uses for it ranging from recreational, medical or commercial intentions. Only recently has this plant been in the highlight for its many medical properties. The leaf of this plant is highly recognisable and is known by many other names such as yarndi, ganja, kush all sorts. It grows in tropical to temperate climates but can be grown indoors and out\doors successfully though out the world. This plant is used for its relaxing, medicinal and recreational uses worldwide and is being legalised more and more every day.

Marijuana & Its Main Properties

There are two main properties of marijuana, one being THC and the other being CBD, both are very beneficial depending on the person and their needs or wants. CBD is an amazing remedy for joint aches and muscle recovery, THC can be extremely useful for sleep insomnia and for encouraging appetite.

THC: The THC properties are the chemicals that alter the brains function and causes you to get high, it will slow down the central nervous system which can alter moods and make sounds or colours more vivid or extreme. This is the relaxing and calming side of the effects which help with sleep, appetite and anxiety, however, it can affect every individual differently.

CBD: The CBD side of the plant is the side that helps with pain relief, nauseous and seizures etc. Professionals are still learning about its medicinal properties. Many sports athletes use CBD for injury recovery especially with ankle joints and previously broken bones.

Varieties Of Marijuana

The three (3) main types of marijuana are; Sativa, Indica and Ruderalis.

Sativa: This strain is most commonly known for its uplifting and creativeness, this strain also grows very tall, sometimes upwards of 20 feet.if you let it lol.

Indica: This strain is beneficial for its relaxing properties helping with pain and stress relief, it will grow up to approximately 9 feet tall.

Ruderalis: This strain has very little THC and CBD properties and will only grow to be about 3 feet tall. Not the most common at all.

Hybrids can be made to create a mixture of all of the above to suit the desired effect.

Main Forms Of Marijuana

The three (3) main forms of marijuana are Marijuana,Hashish and Hash oil.

Dried Marijuana: This is usually the most consumed out of the three, it can be made up of the leaves and flowers of the plant. It is useful for a high or turned into oil or butter for baking cakes, cookies and anything else your munchies desire, see the recipe section for more information.

Hashish: Also known as hash, is made from the resin of the marijuana plant, it can be made into cubes or powder form and is added to tobacco or edibles. Rather potent and a pleasurable high for the more experienced stoners.

Hash oil: Hash oil is made by extracting the pure oil from the pant into a thick oil that can be placed on marijuana to smoke or smoked on its own. Very potent and usually kept for the pros or the one that wants to take it to the next level.

What Are The Effects

The general effects are feeling relaxed, sill/goofy and hungry, people will also feel that sounds and colours are more exaggerated. Marijuana will also cause drowsiness and should never be used while under the control of heavy machinery aka driving. Alcohol should not be mixed with marijuana as it will exaggerate the effect and may cause vomiting and nausea. However it affects you don’t worry you can not overdose on weed, it is the safest form of inebriation known to man.
